As seen on House Hunters International! Episode "A Taste For Paris" - Episode

On the third floor of an 18th-century building in a great Marais location rue de Poitou, La Fleur de Poitou has been fully transformed into a regal home away from home. Renovated from stem to stern in 2011 by Interior Architect Martine di Mattéo, the apartment is a colorful and shining example of what is possible when good taste and savoir faire are combined.

The apartment is comprised of two rooms and a bathroom. The large main room includes the kitchen, dining area and living room, while the second piece is the bedroom. Original beams are exposed and give a stirring sense of Paris as it once was. Large windows in the living room and bedroom overlook the street corner and send bright beams of light into the apartment all day long.

The open kitchen backsplash is a masterpiece of hand-laid tile, created by Mosaïste Véronique Husson. It is well equipped -- with full sized oven, two burner stove, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, washer/dryer combination, coffee maker, electric kettle and toaster. Overhead cupboards, some with glass doors, and a separate chest of drawers, contain all of the dishes, utensils, cooking implements, pots and pans that you will need to cook up any gourmet meal.

Central in the main salon is a round dining table that seats four people on plush violet velvet chairs. Overtop of the table is an eye-catching globe-shaped iron light fixture.

The inviting living room is where the purple-themed color scheme is most prominent. Against the deep purple wall sits a suede three-person sofa that pulls out to become a queen-size bed and is flanked by two end tables and their lamps. On the wall above the sofa is an original painting by local Paris artist, Pascal Amblard. There is a small coffee table in front and an easy chair to the right, between the two large windows. All of the apartment’s windows have been dressed with beautiful draperies, hand-made from sumptuous fabrics.

Opposite the sofa is the entertainment center with flat screen TV, DVD player and the cable box/server, which provides over 150 TV channels and over 11,000 (preloaded) songs for your listening pleasure.

From the living room one passes into the bedroom with its queen-size bed that can be made up as twins. The bed is surrounded by storage closets so you’ll easily be able to stow away your possessions to make you feel right at home. All of the linens and towels are provided and are of high quality.

Finally, the bathroom is yet another masterpiece of mosaic tile The sink, vanity and shower have all been beautifully hand-tiled, all with the flower pattern that gives the apartment its name – La Fleur de Poitou.
Included with the apartment is WiFi and free telephone with answering machine. Long-distance calls to land lines in over 100 countries are free. This extends to calls to cell phones in France, the US and Canada.

We enjoyed the location of this apartment since it was close to the Métro, organic grocery store (Bio c' Bon), numerous bakeries, & interesting designer clothing boutiques (e.g., Helmut Lang, Sonia Rykiel). The kitchen was well equipped & included a dishwasher & a combo washer/dryer (both came in handy). Our ...

A Little Piece of Paris. One of the many reasons we love this magical city so dearly is how looked after we feel when we stay in any of Adrian and her caring team's chic and cosy apartments. La Fleur is gorgeously decorated with all the home comforts we could ...
