Café Noir

A delightful and very Parisian "bistro gourmand", located on the rue Saint Blaise, a narrow cobble-stone street that winds its way up to the Charonne Village in the 20th arrondissement.
Great for a peaceful lunch outside, far from the bustle of the boulevards. The terrace, surrounded by bamboo in pots, is set out on the street.

The plat du jour at lunchtime is offered for 11.40€ and changes every day, based on what the fresh food market has to offer. For our visit, it was pork ribs braised with cherries, and these were surely among the most savoury we’ve ever tasted. To follow sweet and sour, a sweet and acidic desert: chocolate “tartelette” topped with fresh grapefruit.

The dishes are presented with care, and the silver and glassware are surprisingly elegant. The restaurant interior contains many parisian objects, such as a collection of coffee pots and posters from old French movies.
