A few words from the host
Our home is a loft-style apartment that was originally an artist atelier built in 1900. We completely renovated it by a well-known architect into a family friendly duplex loft space. What makes the apartment original is that we have beautiful 6 meter high windows and ceilings, so the space is very light and sunny. We've furnished the duplex in a contemporary, but homey style. The duplex features 3 bedrooms and can sleep up to 6. On the top floor, we have a large master bedroom, a bedroom with bunk beds, bathroom and separate toilet. On the lower level is another bedroom (with either a single bed or double futon) and a large open space. The open space includes the living room, dining area and a kitchen with culinary island. We have all the amenities necessary to make your stay as comfortable as possible: WIFI, high-end stereo and homecinema system, dishwasher, washer and dryer. The interior decorating features high quality furnishings from european designers. The duplex is located on the top 2 floors of a three-story house. Minimum 4 night stay.
Recommendations
The apartment was charming, comfortable and quite elegant. It's light filled and airy. Dining room/living room/kitchen are open plan, with huge arched windows. (This space must have been an artist's atelier at some point.) The kitchen is well-equipped (we did a great deal of cooking there), and the dining room table seats 6 comfortably.
The neighborhood, the 13th, is fantastic: not touristy at all (a good thing) and incredibly convenient to most parts of Paris. Two métro stops are within very short walks: the Corvisart stop (6 ligne) is directly in front of the apt. and Place d'Italie (5,6,7 lignes) is two blocks away. So, you can pretty much get to anywhere in the city very quickly! Another plus to the neighborhood: the market that sets up on Avenue Auguste Blanqui (right in front of the apt) is fantastic. And, since it's held three days a week, you can do much of your shopping right there, including meats, cheeses and seafood —all incredibly fresh. (I wish I could roll out of bed here and buy goat's milk yogurt and St Nectaire!)
After spending a week here, this apartment (and neighborhood) truly felt like our home-away-from-home. We would absolutely stay here again, and recommend it wholeheartedly!

Paris Sharing was a terrific find for us.
We had a week to spend in Paris and with two small children plus my Mum in tow, we didn't want to be stuck in a hotel or B&B.
The duplex was affordable, a great size, full of natural light and in easy walking distance of all amenities, including the metro which makes getting around Paris without a car a breeze.
Both the owners and the Paris Sharing staff went over and above the call of duty to make our stay a comfortable and successful one. We would definitely use Paris Sharing again and would highly recommend it to others.

Butte-aux-Cailles
A lesser-known area in the southern part of Paris, the Butte-aux-Cailles neighborhood has retained a village-like atmosphere in stark contrast to the high-rise buildings of the 13th arrondissement. The Butte-aux-Cailles is made up of a handful of quaint cobblestone streets filled with small houses, several lively bars, eclectic restaurants and outdoor cafés. The Butte-aux-Cailles is known for its lively nightlife, crowded nightly with a mix of students and affluent Parisians enjoying the village ambiance. The area has retained a bohemian charm and is for the most part off the typical touristic circuit, thus making it a haven not only for Parisians, but also for working artists. An artistic influence is everywhere on the Butte-aux-Cailles, home to several artist workshops and galleries. Art is also what makes this an interesting neighborhood to visit during the day. Featured throughout the Butte-aux-Cailles is street art (contemporary public-space artwork) by an artistic association called, Lez’arts de la Beivre. Wandering the streets of the Butte-aux-Cailles you’ll see exceptional street art on the walls of houses, buildings and underpasses throughout the area, further providing to the unique feeling of the neighborhood. The Butte aux Cailles might not have a popular tourist attraction, but with its lively an original atmosphere it makes tourists want to come back and Parisians want to live there. Located on the Metro line 6 between the Place d’Italie and Corvisart stations, Butte aux Cailles is walking distance to the Latin Quarter and Chinatown.
